It is important to compare apples with apples. SolarCloud only uses commercial grade equipment, each system is cleaned twice a year, every system is remotely monitored and insured. It is also important when looking to purchase solar that you think of it like a car, you need to look after it by servicing and cleaning it regularly, it will not just look after itself for 25 years.
Plus you would never just go and buy a 3Lt car so do not just by a 3kW solar system, look at the reviews of inverters and panels and what warranty do they come with and what is the cost after the warranty runs out to replace those parts.
The other guidance SolarCloud would give is never buy a solar system without a monitoring system attached, or it there are problems how will you know, you will have to wait for the next energy bill which maybe 3 months away to find out your bill has gone crazy again because the solar system has a fault….
Please also note when you need to replace the inverter on a standard solar system the cost will be somewhere around 17% of the NONE discounted (before STC) price and the new inverter will have to work with your now old solar system, if not the lot goes in the bin and your start again.
This is a large reason why the AEMO stated at a conference back in 2019 that they estimate that over 40% of domestic systems are not working properly if at all, as many people get the price to change the inverter and just can not be bothered.

Some people seem to think solar will look after itself for 30 years. Well that's not the case at all, just like a car you need to maintain it and replace parts from time to time. The main thing to note is the inverter (box on the wall) for a typical residential installation it has a warranty of 5 years and just like your mobile phone will pretty much only last that time. So get ready as every 5 years you need a new one and guess what, there are no government rebates available second, third, fourth or fifth time round….. so it’s roughly going to cost you 17% of the total initial system cost BEFORE the STC discount was applied.
